Stay Out of the Woods: Strange Encounters, Volume 4

Very interesting read. Wish it was longer.

As you know, this is a book about strange things happening in the woods. It's presented anecdotally, as if people told stories to the author and he combined them in a book. The stories are scary in their subject matter; generally the teller is out on a trail somewhere and sees something that should not exist. The stories themselves are no more than 15-20 pages each so they go by quickly. You could easily read through one story while in a waiting room at the doctor's office, for example. I really enjoy this subject matter and these stories are very well written. I think you will like them too.

Extremely captivating read! Bizarre happenings to everyday people. Great series!

These stories unsettled me but I could not stop reading . I believe years ago ...on holiday in Louisiana...I heard - but did not see - a BIgfoot...In hindsight I am convinced of this. While staking out a reputed haunted bridge, late one night in some back woods, as hort while later - an unearthly, deep guttural loud moan suddenly sounded, then ascended into a piercing wailing scream or cry. It froze us on the spot and chilled us to the bone. We simple left immediately in the car. And remained silent the rest of the way home. Unable to fathom the sound or process it. I don't think about that night much ..when if do it makes me shudder. I'm also glad we didn't see anything maybe. Am safely back in the UK now but hard to make people believe the story so I don't discuss it anymore.
